For customers selecting Black or Merlot stained finishes with custom engraving, we recommend our Poplar box with Baltic Birch top panel. The lighter Baltic Birch surface creates superior contrast, allowing laser engraving to stand out sharply against darker finishes. Due to limited contrast, engraving directly on dark stained walnut surfaces is not recommended.
